Strengthening Indigenous Forestry Leadership
The BC First Nations Forestry Council is at the forefront of advancing First Nations leadership in forestry across British Columbia. As the organization’s influence grows, their old website was struggling to keep pace—making it harder to share resources, connect with communities, and reflect the depth of their work.
They came to Indigenous Marketing Solutions ready for something better.
Research Rooted in Collaboration
We began where we always do—with people. Through stakeholder conversations and a close review of existing materials, we took time to understand the Forestry Council’s goals, audiences, and vision before a single page was designed. That foundation shaped everything that followed.
Designing for Clarity and Access
A restructured sitemap brought clarity to programs, resources, and policy materials that were previously hard to navigate. The visual design was built to reflect what the Forestry Council truly is: a credible, established voice in Indigenous forestry governance.
Pages were developed collaboratively and refined through ongoing review, so the final design felt as considered as the work it represents.
Building an Integrated Digital Platform
The site is a fully custom WordPress build. It is responsive, fast, and integrated with the tools the Forestry Council relies on. A policy library, events calendar, multimedia gallery, blog, and donation function all support day-to-day operations, while Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration keeps community engagement organized and trackable. SEO and analytics were built in from the start.

Supporting Long-Term Impact
The Forestry Council now has a digital home that reflects its real-world standing. Clearer navigation means communities and partners can find what they need without friction. Integrated systems mean less time managing information manually. And a design rooted in the organization’s values means every visitor (whether a First Nations community member, a policy partner, or a funder) immediately understands who the Forestry Council is and why it matters.
It’s a website grounded in values, guided by relationships, and built to advance First Nations voices in forestry for the long term.
