For more than 25 years, Naut’sa mawt Event Management has supported many of the most significant gatherings impacting Indigenous Peoples across Canada. As the organization grew, they recognized the need for a refreshed brand that reflects who they are today—an experienced Indigenous event partner grounded in culture, protocol, and care.
Exploring Identity and Voice
Through collaborative brand story workshops, we defined their audiences, positioning, and messaging. From this work, their distinct role emerged: a full-service Indigenous event partner offering planning, reporting, and culturally aligned experiences that bring western and Indigenous perspectives together. Voice and Tone guidelines were developed to speak to diverse audiences while remaining warm, respectful, and professional.
A Symbol Rooted in Community Wisdom
The visual identity centres on the Great Blue Heron, a sentinel known in coastal communities for watching, listening, and moving with intention. As shared by Elder Ruth Adams, “The great blue heron was like a sentinel to our Nations… They knew the climate, the seasons, and us humans, too.” The heron’s ability to move between water, land, and sky reflects the organization’s role in creating safe spaces for dialogue across sectors and jurisdictions.
Designing for Confidence and Connection
A contemporary heron logo, refined colour and typography systems, and clear messaging now express the maturity, warmth, and professionalism of the organization. The refreshed identity honours two decades of trusted work while positioning Naut’sa mawt Event Management for continued impact.
